Willoughby Gallery

Not far from home is the Willoughby Memorial Trust Gallery at Corby Glen. This lovely building was built as a Grammar School for the town (village) in the late seventeenth century. It is now owned by the Willoughby family from Grimsthorpe Castle, who run it as a charity allowing local artists to exhibit.

II was all set to share an exhibition with another artist during 2020, but this did of course get cancelled because of COVID. Subsequently I given the upstairs exhibition space for a one-man show in the early spring of 2024.
I had 50 sculptures on display and received lots of good responses. I talked to a lot of visitors, who probably knew less about sculpture than they did about other art forms. WE talked about stone, about tools and about motivation.
